Don't miss out on sightseeing. Visit the enormous Roman-Gothic cathedral on Largo da Sé. Climb the stairs in the clock tower for an amazing view of the town.

Spend your Euros at the Praça Ferreira de Almeida market place where you'll find Faro's best wine shop, Garrafeira Rui. It also does a good range of local sausages, cheeses and delicacies.

Take the ferry east to Ilha Deserta, a beautiful uninhabited island with just the one restaurant on it (Restaurante O Estaminé Tel: 917811856). If you want to lunch here book a table before, or as soon as you arrive in Faro! The beach is simply stunning.
